Painting

My Blue
Acrylic Paint, Oil Pastel, Sharpie on Painting Paper. I wanted to try and focus on an abstract concept and try to "let go" a bit with the process. I experimented with water and acrylic paint and paper ripping to add texture. This painting consists of a bunch of layering. The drawing on top is of my dog, Blue Boy, when he just came home from surgery on his paw and mouth, asleep next to me on the couch while I was working on homework. My inspiration for this abstract painting was the worry about how Blue Boy was doing during surgery and if he was going to be okay.

Prescott
"Prescott" was done with Acrylic and Gouache Paint on 40x30 canvas. I assigned myself to take my time with this painting, I wanted to make my decisions carefully. I decided that everything would be done with paint and no sketching beforehand. This painting took about 3 months to finish.

Frank
This painting is heavily inspired by the music I was listening too at the time. I was experimental with this painting and kept going back to it through the span of a year, adding more each time.

Good Days, Bad Days
The cover photo is what the painting looks like currently, and the photo after is what it looked like before I touched it up more. I feel like the experience of the painting is enhanced when one sees the before photo as well.

Denmark
An acrylic painting on a 43x34 canvas previously a thrift shop painting. I covered an old painting bought from a thrift store with this design. This painting is one of my favorites even though it was done quickly and with a canvas that was covered in dust. The night I painted this, I had a dream I went to Denmark. I need to take better photos of this one.

The Loved and The Lost
A painting about grief inspired by Kathe Kollwitz
